Ascension Day Hymn Festival at St. Paul’s

The Choirs of St. Paul’s, St. Andrew’s, and Christ & St. Luke’s join forces to celebrate the feast of the Ascension, 40 days after Easter when Jesus was lifted up into heaven! In place of a guest conductor, conducting will be shared by the three choirmasters.  In addition to Ascension hymns for choir and congregation, anthems by F. Melius Christiansen (Beautiful Savior), C. V. Stanford (Coelos ascendit hodie) , and Peter Philips (Ascendit deus), the service will also include a series of readings appropriate to the day in a lessons and carols format.  St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at the corner of St. Paul’s Blvd. and City Hall Avenue.This service will take place at St. Paul’s Church, 201 St. Paul’s Blvd, downtown Norfolk.
