Serving the Church
The Church is the Body of Christ – that means that we hope everyone has the opportunity to shape our common life through helping with worship, caring for one another, and keeping our day to day operations running smoothly in order that we can better love and serve God and our neighbor.

- Altar Guild: Altar guild members work behind the scenes to prepare our altar for worship and to clean up after worship. This faithful group ensures that our worship is holy and welcoming.
- Brass and Silver Polishers: Another quiet and reverent ministry is polishing the silver and brass in the sanctuary to maintain the beauty of our worship space.
Linens: Volunteers wash, iron, and maintain our beautiful altar linens. - Flower Guild: The members of this faithful and talented group arrange flowers each week to decorate our sanctuary for worship. They also assist with the decorations at weddings and other special parish events.
- Lectors and Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs): Worship is the work (and joy!) of the people. Members of the church read the Bible lessons and prayers in worship and help serve the chalice at Holy Communion.
You can speak to any clergyperson to talk about being trained. - Choirs and Music: See our music page to learn more about the Parish Choir, Handbell Choir, Children’s Choir, and the Gospel Lights.

- The Card Ministry mails cards to anyone who might need encouragement including those who are unable to attend church, who are sick, or who are grieving.
- The Flower Delivery Team delivers flowers from our altar to church members each week to extend our love to them.
- Eucharistic Visitors take communion from our Sunday worship to homebound and hospitalized members each week.
- The Prayer Shawl Ministry knits or crochets shawls to comfort those who are sick or grieving.
- The Meals Ministry cooks up delicious soups and casseroles to be taken to parishioners who need a hand with preparing meals. Sometimes these go to folks who are sick, and sometimes they go to families overwhelmed by schedules. No one goes hungry at St. Andrew’s!

- Building and Grounds: Under the guidance of the Junior Warden, the Building & Grounds Committee members oversee the upkeep of our beautiful 100+ year-old building and develop long-range capital improvement plans.
- Finance Committee: Working with the Treasurer, this committee helps prepare our annual budget, advises the vestry (governing board) and rector (priest) on financial matters, and helps oversee our endowment.
- Stewardship: Our church operates only through the generous offerings of our members’ time, talents, and treasure. The Stewardship Committee works with the rector (priest) and Treasurer to help us tell our stories, inspire giving, and care for our church.
- Office Guild: This group of volunteers assists with answering the phones, preparing Sunday worship bulletins, greeting guests at the doors, and otherwise helping our parish administrator.
