Children and Youth
Children and Youth matter at St. Andrew’s! We uplift their voices, encourage their questions, and respect their dignity. St. Andrew’s offers robust children and youth programming and requires our staff and volunteers to take a Safe Church certification every 3 years to ensure the safety of our youngest members.
Our full-time Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries, Harper Bathel, would be happy to speak with you about our Children and Youth programming and to add you to our special weekly email for families with Children and Youth.
- Nursery Care: We offer qualified and compassionate nursery care every Sunday morning for children ages six weeks to four years. From September through May, the nursery is open 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Summer hours are 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM.
- Children’s Chapel uses religious language, parables, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action to help children become more fully aware of God’s presence in their lives. Children's Chapel starts in the auditorium at 10:15 AM and ends when the children are returned to their parents during the passing of the peace in order to receive Holy Communion. Children ages 4 through second grade are encouraged to participate.

- Youth Group: The primary fellowship in our youth program is the Episcopal Youth Community (EYC), comprised of young people in grades 6-12 who gather, usually on Sunday evenings, for the purpose of fun, service to church and community, and spiritual nurturing.
- Acolytes: Each week, youth in grades six through twelve faithfully serve at the altar and help lead our worship service.
Throughout the year we offer many intergenerational events as well as special events specifically for children and youth including a Vacation Bible School, Diocesan Youth Events, and Youth Peace Pilgrimages to domestic and foreign destinations.
