The Rev. Connie Jones joined the St. Andrew’s staff in 2018 after retiring from full-time parish ministry as Associate Rector of Grace Church, Yorktown. Educated at Mount Holyoke College (B.A.) and Duke University (Ph.D.), her first career was to teach U.S. History in the Virginia Community College system. She then studied for ministry at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, and Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria and was ordained deacon and priest in 2003. She first served at Christ and St. Luke’s Church. Her late husband, Bill, taught Political Science at Virginia Wesleyan College, and they have two children, who live in Richmond and Wisconsin with Connie’s four grandchildren. Connie lives in Larchmont with her cat Roger, and enjoys daily swimming, biking, and both reading and redistributing books. At St. Andrew’s, she assists the rector as needed, serves on the pastoral care team, and hosts a small group called Theology Before Lunch. Connie is the co-author of A Goodly Heritage: The Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia.
